‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 21 preview: Misha Collins returns; Jared Padalecki falls

MetatronCan you believe that there are only three episodes left on “Supernatural” season 8? It feels in some ways like this season has blown by faster than a leaf in the wind. (Holler if you get that reference!)

While we enjoyed seeing the surprisingly-tender “Pac-Man Fever” episode last night featuring Felicia Day, it seems appropriate that now is the time that the show refocuses itself a little bit on the road ahead when it comes to the tablet. Namely, we have Sam starting to realize that these trials are making him a little bit missed up in the head, and thus bad things happen.

Also, Castiel is back! Misha Collins’ character will do his absolute best to get on the same page with the Winchester brothers, which we are assuming is not going to be a particularly easy task given that he has been fighting off the control of Naomi for some time. Angels are going to play a bigger role than ever in this episode, as it also marks the official arrival of Metatron (pictured above), an ancient angel who is going not going to be at his full capability when Sam and Dean first run into him.

All in all, it’s safe to say that whatever happens here in “The Great Escapist” will carry directly over to the last two hours of the season, and we will have more scoop every step of the way.

Are you excited for Castiel’s return, and what do you think causes Sam to go “thud” on the floor at the end of the preview? Even you want to take a look even further down the road this season, check out this take on the upcoming “Clip Show” (which is a very deceptive title, really) at the link here.
