‘The Bachelor’ rumors: Is Seal Lowe’s replacement really golfer Adam Scott?
The speculation started following the Masters, when show producer Robert Mills and host Chris Harrison both supported the idea of the champion as “The Bachelor” on Twitter. In addition to that, a source from inside production also had the following to say through E! News:
“We are definitely going to pursue [Scott]. So far, no meeting’s been set but we’re trying. He could be a perfect fit…We’re also considering other people Bachelor fans already know.”
Now, allow us to explain why this idea has such a tiny chance of actually happening: it’s all about story. While Scott may be pretty well known in the golf community (and have a name that is the same as a star of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”), he is not someone altogether relevant to the show’s devoted fan base. It’s so much more attractive for the show at this point to farm from its own past, that way it has built-in stories across several seasons that it can play with. This helps to explain why the ratings for Sean Lowe’s season were so high, and why there were so many people rooting for him on “Dancing With The Stars” 16.
We’re sure that Adam could be considered if the crop of guys on Desiree Hartsock’s current season are horrendous, but we just don’t see that happening.
Do you think we will ever see a “Bachelor” star again that is not from one of the show’s preceding seasons? If you want to read some more scoop on Desiree’s season (which is currently filming), you can do so over at the link here.
