‘Justified’ finale spoilers: Joelle Carter on Ava’s final plot of season 4
In just a few short hours, “Justified” will be wrapping up season 4, and we will have an opportunity to truly find out whether or not Boyd and Ava Crowder can find a way to get out of the mess that they are currently in. The unfortunate thing for Ava this time around, though, is that she is in a position right now when it comes to Delroy’s murder when she actually will not be able to have help from anyone.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on this very subject, Joelle Carter acknowledges the rather difficult state that her character has found herself in, and she explains how this episode will for better or worse be an hour all about her survival, both in terms of staying alive and staying out of prison:
“I think she really feels responsibility for this situation because she’s the one who pulled the trigger and then didn’t potentially get rid of the body in the right way. She’s had help from other people, and it’s come back to bite her in the butt, so in this episode, by will and choice, she gets separated from the crew and has to take things on herself.”
If Ava finds a way to survive through this episode, we have a feeling that there will be some very exciting things set up for season 5 regarding her and Boyd, including the possibility of the two finally having that wedding after so much buildup this season. We can only hope that we see it play out, and not just via some sort of time jump where season 5 begins and they’ve already tied the knot.
