NBC’s ‘The Office’ season 9 spoilers: ‘St. Elsewhere’ alum to appear in series finale
As we get ever closer to the series finale of “The Office” airing in May, we will hopefully continue to hear tiny details here and there about some of the actors that are coming on to spend time at Dunder-Mifflin in Scranton … including the following name.
In a post on Twitter, Ed Begley Jr. of “St. Elsewhere” fame confirmed that he is not only coming on board for one of the final parts of the episode, but that he would be doing a little bit of word with John Krasinski’s character of Jim Halpert. Sadly, there is no word just yet as to what sort of role specifically that Begley will play, or whether this is just a brief appearance for a couple of lines or a more extended guest spot. We could certainly see him playing someone’s parent, or someone helping to run the documentary that has focused on life in Scranton all of these years.
We know that one of the key subjects that is going to be touched on in the final weeks is what happens when the documentary actually starts to become available to the public, and what sort of impact this ends up having on all of the characters. If you remember what was said earlier on in this series, the only real reason that the camera crew is even still there is to follow the story of Jim and Pam, so who knows? Maybe they are set to move on from Scranton themselves, and the documentary is therefore going to end.
What do you think about this casting news? If you want to check out a first look of Rainn Wilson’s Dwight in the upcoming “The Farm” episode, you can do so over at the link here.
