‘American Horror Story’ season 3: Kathy Bates joins the cast
Jessica Lange has clearly been one of the major heavy hitters for Ryan Murphy’s hit series “American Horror Story” and has re-cast her for every season including the highly anticipated third installment of the show along with a few other actors and actresses he loves, such as Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, but along with Murphy’s regular cast he’s bringing in a new actress that is very familiar with the horror genre.
According to TV Line, Kathy Bates (who won an Oscar for her role in the horror film “Misery”) has been added to the cast of “American Horror Story” for season 3. Bates will be playing the best friend of Lange’s new character, but unfortunately she will become an enemy to Lange’s character as the series goes on.
At this point details on “American Horror Story” season 3 are pretty hard to come by as Murphy is keeping things on the down low right now, but he has said that Lange will be playing a “glamour cat leading lady” which will be a nice change after watching her wear a nun’s habit for most of season 2. Murphy has also said that the new season will be “more historical in nature”, but will take place in modern day. Like past seasons of the show, viewers will have a chance to see different “time periods”, but this time there will “also be different cities”.
Along with Lange, Bates, Peters and Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and our favorite Lily Rabe will be returning for “American Horror Story” season 3. Who else would you like to see come back for season 3? Do you have any theories on what the story will focus on? Leave us a comment and tells us what you think.
