ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: Tony Goldwyn looks at Olivia, Fitz’s future
Based on what we saw from last week’s new episode of “Scandal” alone, we already know that there is plenty of physical chemistry that exists out there already between Olivia Pope and President Fitzgerald Grant. The two are willing to have torrid makeout sessions despite not wanting to spend any time with each other, and this leads to us ultimately begging the question: when will this physical relationship turn emotional again?
We know that, in the present day of the show, it has been ten months since Fitz last smashed Olivia’s heart into the ground with his decision to not commit political suicide and stay with Mellie. So is there any hope for things to be repaired again? Based on what Tony Goldwyn told TVLine in a new interview, it does still at least seem as though there is a possibility for something to develop between the two down the road:
“I think Liv is truly authentic. I think that she believed everything that Fitz believed in, in terms of ideals and a morality higher than their transgressing morality with their sexual relationship… morality on a more profound level … So all I can imagine is that somehow it will be revealed to Fitz that Olivia is still the woman he thought she was, and he’ll need her in some way. Like, she’ll become his only lifeline.”
In order for this need to manifest, what we are probably going to end up seeing over time is something that earth-shattering enough to make Fitz realize that while he may have a wife in Mellie, she is not nearly enough in order to satisfy what he really needs in his life.
How long do you expect to wait to see Olivia and Fitz go completely off the rails again? If you want to check out some more “Scandal” season 2 scoop pertaining to Quinn, all you have to do is check out the story over at the link here.

If they don’t restore the Olivia /Fitz relationship within a few episodes, it’ll take the show down for good.

After last week’s episode, season 2, #14, I can say that I have stopped watching the show. I wasn’t sure at first but #15 airs shortly and I have no interest in seeing it. I can understand Fitz’s drinking but the words the writers are creating for his character are disgusting. I think the writers have taken it too far with the insults to Olivia. The erection comment was not believable based on the character already created. I don’t tune in to see a female character verbally abused by a male character.
