‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ review: Was Cynthia Bailey’s pageant a success?
We’ve spent a great deal of time over the past several weeks dealing with Cynthia Bailey’s Miss Renaissance Pageant on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but on Sunday night, this story more or less came to a close.
What happened? Surprisingly, not that much. Despite all of the major concerns that Cynthia had leading into the pageant, which includes allowing the oft-crazy Kenya Moore to serve as a judge, there was nothing that caused the sky to come crashing down during the event. A winner was crowned, and now everyone can breathe a sigh of relief (and thus move on to discuss some other things).
As for one of the other highlights of this episode, it was actually getting the opportunity to see Kandi Burruss enter the recording studio this week to try and work on a gospel album. This is something that has been near and dear to her heart for some time, and she is one of the few women on this entire Bravo franchise to actually have some business entering the studio at all. After all, she actually had a career in music prior to the show, and is looking to do more than just make tracks about bumping and grinding in some club. (Yes, we are well aware that this quote makes us appear like a curmudgeon.)
Strange as it may seem given the lack of shock-and-awe drama, this was one of the better episodes of the show this season. We finally saw the conclusion of one major event, and it is occasionally nice to see some of the ladies have a win.
What did you think about this episode, and are you glad that some of this beauty pageant business seems to be over for the time being? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can go back and watch a clip from this episode over at the link here.

I love the show.. but i think Cynthia is not a nice person, she stirs up trouble behind peoples back and wants to come off as the person who has the least beef…. she is not a nice person…

I disagree! NeNe has been boring this season. All she does is talk about her small role, which really isn’t all that! I think Kenya Moore is this season’s queen of the show.

Can we see more of Nene please? The other women are soooooooooooo boring. Without Nene, this show would be off the air in no time.
