ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5: Accident on set injures two people
There’s some scary news to report now from the set of “Castle,” as season 5 production took a wrong turn late this week when an accident led to some pretty serious injuries, in particular for an unnamed member of the crew.
Speaking in a report from Deadline, talent manager William Blaylock described the scene that caused injuries for both a guess actress in Karen David as well as a stuntman:
“Karen was the actress in the scene with the stuntman … They fell from a moving van when a door would not shut. Karen was in the emergency room for hours being treated. She has been released but is in serious pain and has to wear a neck brace.”
While there has been some varied reports about the condition of the stuntman, sources are now saying that he is still in serious condition at a local hospital. We’ll have more on this situation as time goes by, and the network is reportedly in the process of investigating just what happened to cause the incident. Injuries on network TV sets of this magnitude are very rare, and the last one to garner this sort of major attention happened when a light fixture caused Kristin Chenoweth to end her guest stint on “The Good Wife” much earlier than she otherwise would have.
Most of the cast members have stayed quiet about the incident online, but we will let you know if that changes moving forward. The cast has been at work lately shooting episodes to air during the February sweeps.
A new episode of “Castle” season 5 is going to be airing on ABC Monday night, and we will have more on it tomorrow. For now, however, you can prepare yourself for “Death Gone Crazy” by watching the promo over here.
