‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: What does the future hold for Gemma?
“Sons of Anarchy” season 6 is not going to be actually airing on FX until September, and the writers are still two months away from actually beginning the scripts. With that being said, executive producer Kurt Sutter is still being kind enough to share a few details about what is coming up for a few specific characters.
Speaking as a part of a new interview with TV Guide, Sutter explains that when it specifically comes to the woman played by his wife Katey Sagal in Gemma, he anticipates a return to form for her after a season stuffed full of heartbreak, a new “relationship” with Nero, and her running back to Clay despite trying to be pushed into ruining him by Jax:
“Women like Gemma, they are cockroaches … They can take a lot of hits, and they always find a way to come back and crawl out a little bit stronger. We saw her really astray at the beginning of the season, but … we slowly saw her find footing. I think by the end of the finale, she’s got her balls back.”
This Gemma comeback should come as a nice sort of parallel to what is going on with Clay, especially when you consider that he is seemingly a broken man now following his arrest. After trying for so long to fight and be the “tough guy,” he’s somehow become a bit of a sympathetic character while Jax has managed to fill his role. It’s not clear whether or not the dynamic will stay this way throughout season 6, but it should at least be exciting from the onset.
What part do you want to see Gemma take in “Sons of Anarchy” season 6? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can also read up on what Theo Rossi is doing in the offseason over at the link here.

I believe the military brother of the nurse was the one who probably ratted on Tara not Gemma, I like Gemma! She does what she has to do, all she want is her family around & Tara is being a Bitch about it. I think Tara should stay in jail for a while (to scare her) & Gemma finds a way to get her out. Also it could be the junky who told that would be interesting, just because she knew she was going to get custody of the boys. At the end & both Tara & Gemma attack her somehow lol

Gemma has been depicted as a mother to the members of SAMCRO in the past, so it would be nice to see her return to that role. I would love to see Gemma and Tara reconcile their differences with Gemma being a guiding force for Tara again by grooming her to be the next SAMCRO matriarchy. It would be interesting to see them come together fighting Wendy for the boys with having to kill her together like the caretaker. I would love too see them become a formiable fighting force for Jax and Nero as they combat all the retaliation due to come next season. Instead of always needing protection, train them how to defend themselves and their families.

Kurts Sutter stinks. He destroyed one of the best female characters of the last seven years or so. Gemma was great. Was. Katey should get a divorse. This man is awful.

Oh look Sutter how many people hate Gemma now, some of those dumbf**ks even messed up with Sagal’s twitter account. They hate Gemma and Katey, thanks to you and your “brilliant” writing. F you, Kurt Sutter and f your dumb show. I will never ever going to watch it again and I wish you lowest raitings in history next season. Which ain’t possible though cause people love dumb shows like yours. Idiot.

Bloody brilliant series. Character development is unreal, plot lines are deliciously convoluted. I concur with Clay being the culprit in Tara’s arrest. Certainly trading for protection inside would motivate him. I don’t buy the ‘broken man’ shtick. So sorry Opie, sad to see you go. Otto, wow. Tig you freak, I think your character development is the most interesting- could you be a better actor Kim Coates? I think not.
Gemma, you’re so relentless! Never a dull moment -don’t change! Juice you are too emo, lets see you do some serious work on yourself, the force must have spared you for a reason while much stronger have been culled?! Uncer please don’t die, something really good should happen to you. Nero ,Sadly, writing’s on the wall. Hale? I’m down with his departure. I guess we need you Bobby, who knew you were so level and thoughtful?Risking becoming a little hokey? The jailhouse guitar lament…..really?
Tara ?……moves like Bobby Fischer…..I’m sure of it.
And Finally Jax, oh Jax whatever you do, please remember there is never a bad time to take off your shirt!
So looking forward to season six!

Well Kurt sutter is a brilliant writer simply because we keep getting upset over the wait between season and between episodes for that matter he keeps us in so much suspence it’s unreal I personally look at Jax as a real person rather than just a character in a dumb tv show Sutter keeps us intact as a fan population by showing us the real moments in the club’s day to day life children, money spouses all real world problems how Jax just hops on his Harley and rides just to ride Kurt shows how much he put into this show by all the unnecessary info we don’t really need to know like the first nine we only hear about five of them in the actual show he came up with over twenty different lives that are connected by one thing …….. Sons of Anarchy he gets us so into the lives of these outlaws attached even I mean c’mon whoever watches this show fatefully man or woman and didn’t cry when oppie was killed your a monster because I was balling almost like it was my best friend who was killed Sutter is more than a writer he’s a dream caster
He had a vision a thought of telling a story about a biker gang and brought that to life while doing that he turned it into more than a bike bang when he was done it was a family a disfuntional one but a family none the less
Well that’s my spiel on one of my favorite tv shows of all time thanks Kurt Sutter

Gemma isn’t the one who put Tera in jail. It was Clay giving the story to Roosevelt he pieced together when Gemma had him put away the boxes of Luanne’s stuff. Season six will focus on Jax keeping Clay alive in prison before someone can kill him for Pope’s bounty in order to have him rescind his statement. Clay will be protected by the Irish and work on how to take down Everyone who screwed him.

Gemma needs to let the club go and stop the fighting with Tara. Nero and her need to just leave. Jax needs to get the club in order before they all die and Clay needs to stay in jail forever as he is the reason behind Op and the club being destroyed. The IRA needs to step up and help Jax get things back on track.

I don’t want to see Gemma die…..I like her, she just needs to let up on Tara! Especially regarding the kids. I would like to see her have a meaningful relationship with Nero and NOT go back to Clay….ugh!!! If someone has to die on season 6, let it be Clay. I was shocked when I read your article and it said that he’s become “a bit of a sympathetic character.” I have absolutely NO sympathy for him. I think he’s an ass!
I actually had never seen the show on TV before. Someone recommended it to me, so I watched seasons 1-4 on Netflix and season 5 online (Netflix needs to catch up)! So basically I watched every episode in a period of approximately a week and a half. Now that I’m done, I’m going through SOA withdraw! I can’t believe we have to wait until September……that sucks! But the thing that bothers me the most about the series is that you have to have ‘good’ characters to help balance the bad ones. I absolutely loved Jax…..he was the sexy biker dude that your parents would freak out about because they don’t want you dating a biker, but you knew what a good soul he was. But once he took over, you’ve got him killing people left and right…….that’s not the Jax that I fell in love with! Also, you’re heading Tara down the same path………it’s just disheartening! We need the “nice” couple who stand strong together when the rest of the show is chaos! We need people to root for!
Last thing…..I hate that you killed Opie off. I was really hoping that he would somehow turn back into the character he was originally. It’s great that he ‘took one for the team,’ but it sucks that he had to die doing it! Thanks for letting me vent!

Jax finds out that Gemma is somehow involved in the murder of his father John Teller. Fearing for her life Gemma runs back to Clay and plot on getting out of Charming. She seeks help in Belfest to get Clay out of Jail. Tara finds herself a very good lawyer and gets herself out of jail and persues custody of her children. Pope’s #2 find out about Jax’s involvent with popes murder and goes after Jax and shoots him. Jax needs Tara to help him with his gun shots wounds and Tara saves his life. Jax falls back in love with Tara and also plans on leaving Charming with her. Before he leaves Charming with Tara he finds a way to kill Clay and disown his mother

Tara does a week in prison then gemma retracts her statement because jax’s ex will take custody of the children. Jax goes crazy at gemma for making a police statement.
The Irish save clay and take him to belfast for protection, gemma runs back to clay to get out of charming.
Nero and jax fall out because jax pushed gemma away.
Jax starts a new money making scheme with popes’ number2 who has now taken over and they go to ‘war’ with the irish.
John Tellers ex Ol lady in belfast will try to kill clay and gemma.
I believe season 6 will begin like this.

It would be awsome to have gemma somehow get terra out and them make up and come to realize that it was not at all gemma the one that ratted on terra that it was Jax’s ex ol lady i forget her name but i never liked her because of what she did to Abel and then her even have the audocity < if thats how you spell prob not though lol,) to try and come back and see him bs…I truly want to see terra and gemma be like the unstopable duo ol' ladies =D

I believe Gemma’s time is up. Please have the blacks find out about Jax killing the Pope, and have them come after Gemma and kill her. That would be one intense season.

My thoughts on Gemma is that once Tara speaks to Jax about her arrest and how Gemma threatened to snitch on her, Jax will then go about CLEVERLY getting Tara out of jail while punishing Gemma at the same time. The results will be jaw dropping as always but honestly i just want to see Gemma die already

my thoughts are the state comes in and takes the boys away forcing Gemma to need Tara and face at least some of all the bs she has caused for other people to come back on her. Gemma gets some kinda of time in jail for false police report. All charaters get a break from her for a while and she can easily be written in more or less or killed off according to viewer response. No brainer. Shouldn’t take til Sept to write anything for this show. Get new writers now, and bring it back sooner or it’s just another dead great series.
