‘Last Man Standing’ season 2 spoilers: Tim Allen, Richard Karn to reunite
“Last Man Standing” was recently picked up by ABC for five additional episodes this season, and producers for the show are already doing everything in its power to ensure one thing: these extra half-hours do not go to waste.
According to a report from TVLine, we are going to see none other than Tim Allen’s former “Home Improvement” co-star Richard Karn guest-star on the sitcom for an early 2013 episode, where he will be playing the part of a longtime worker of the Outdoor Man who was apparently the “original architect” behind the place. However, he is about to be put in some difficult circumstances courtesy of the company, who seems to be canning him in favor of hiring someone who is young and attractive. With this in mind, he of course is assuming that her looks are the primary reason why this move was made rather than anything else.
Could this casting help to boost ratings for the sitcom? We’re betting on it. After all, “Home Improvement” was a smash hit on ABC throughout the 1990s, and even though “Last Man Standing” got off to a strong start on Fridays earlier this fall, it has since struggled to keep the viewing figures up in the 18-49 demographic. This may actually be the shot in the arm that the show needs in order to get people checking it out again. As for Karn, it is another way to keep the former “Family Feud” host’s name in the spotlight for a little while longer.
Does this news excite you, or are you so turned off by “Last Man Standing” as a show now that not even Karn’s presence could convince you to tune in? If you want to read some more news about the episode pickup for the show, you can do so over at the link here.
