Supernatural season 15 episode 8: Did Adam’s return pay off?

Tonight, the Supernatural season 15 episode 8 arrived on The CW, and there was one word on our mind: Closure. We wanted to have a chance to see some big, powerful stuff courtesy of Adam after his return to this world. We wanted to get a sense that there was a chance to make up for the fact that he’s basically been sitting, separate from the Boys, in another world effectively. There could have been major abandonment issues.

Within this episode, we did at least get some element of remorse — we wouldn’t call it closure per se, but there was a feeling as though there was at least a feeling as though there could have been some other choices. Getting him back emotional for just about any longtime fan of this show, mostly because we’ve been hoping to get him back here for pretty much forever. This was the right occasion for it, right?

Well, as it turns out, this wasn’t the only awesome appearance in this episode — think in terms of Rowena. She’s back, and we couldn’t be more happy with that.

As much fun as it was to see Adam and Purgatory factor into Supernatural moving forward, one of the biggest things we’re wondering now is this — is that it? Are we really going to move forward from this now? If we are, we would understand … even if we’re not going to be altogether happy about it. Just think about it like this. We’re watching a situation play out here where there are a limited number of episodes and through that, only so much time for anyone to shine. Adam just may not have too many opportunities within the larger picture, but at the very least, it’s nice to see him one more time. Hopefully, this is the show just scratching the surface for some more appearances coming up soon.
