Legacies season 2 episode 8 spoilers: Christmas & the fall finale

There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to Legacies season 2 episode 8, and a lot of it starts with this: It’s Christmas! There’s a reason for happiness and holiday cheer there, at least until you remember that this is also going to be the midseason finale. That’s where you gotta remember that there will also be a number of terrible things that also happen. We could have answers to significant mysteries, new monsters, and then also in the end complications when it comes to the state of the Salvatore School.

IT’S CHRISTMAS IN MYSTIC FALLS – Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) joins forces with an unlikely ally to take down a Christmas monster, who’s using holiday cheer to infiltrate the Salvatore School. Elsewhere, Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) surprises Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) with news about his family lineage, and Sebastian (guest star Thomas Doherty) accompanies Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) on her latest mission. Kaylee Bryant and Matthew Davis also star. Brett Matthews directed the episode written by Brett Matthews & Hannah Rosner (#208). Original airdate 12/12/2019.

When the dust does settle, we do think that crafting this episode is going to be very much challenging. We do think it’s important to give some characters lovely little Christmas moments. Yet, at the same time we also think that you need to create some stakes for the new year. We would say that the best thing to do entering the new year is to offer up an incredible cliffhanger that is somewhat separate from the main characters — maybe give us a tease on a few things that the other characters aren’t privy to, and that would set the stage for a perfect foundation moving forward.

In the end, just keep the tone of Legacies the same. Somehow, amidst all of the chaos and the danger, this show finds a way to stay very much fun.
