Outlander wins PCAs prize; see new Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe video
Tonight, the Starz drama officially revealed the Bingeworthy prize after a substantial voting effort by the fans — who, if you didn’t know, are some of the best fans around. The Outlander cast was unable to be in attendance tonight due to season 5 production, but we did get a rather wonderful prize instead — a new video featuring Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin. There’s a lot of humor in this video, but a lot of sentiment, as well. These cast members know how hard everyone worked in order to make sure that they won. They wanted to still find a way in order to pay them back.
(If you love cats, there’s even an Eddie Balfe appearance in the video! Consider that the icing on top of a very-nice case.)
This is far from the first award at the PCAs that Outlander has won. After all, a couple of years ago, it won a whole host of awards only for it to not really be recognized at all. This was incredibly frustrating, especially win the show won one of the biggest prizes of the whole night. That was back when the series aired back on CBS. (For those wondering, it still didn’t get a whole lot of recognition during the show proper on E! tonight — even though there were a lot of other shows that didn’t tonight, either.)
Kudos to the Outlander fans, in the end, for their passion in wanting to vote so much. Meanwhile, kudos to Sam, Caitriona, Richard, Sophie, and Starz for opting to do a video thanking the fans for all of their work.
Outlander season 5 is going to be released on Starz come February 16. We imagine there’ll be more news before long.
