God Friended Me season 2 episode 5 sneak peek: Is Arthur lying?

Tomorrow night’s God Friended Me season 2 episode 5 carries with it the title of “The Greater Good,” something that we know that Miles and Cara are out to do much of the time with the God Account. They get Friend Suggestions, and they then act on them. It doesn’t matter who they are so much as how they can find a way to lend a helping hand.

Yet, the Friend Suggestion at the center of Sunday’s new episode is complicated — let’s go ahead and put it that way. In the video below, you can learn a little bit about how Miles (who is getting suggestions again following the departure of Joy) is doing what he can in order to track down Claire. She is the daughter of the new Bishop, someone who Arthur has been trying to help out to some degree. If you remember, Arthur agreed last week to a “trial run” of a new Chief of Staff position, one that could keep him involved while also giving him a freedom with other things.

All of this seems okay for Arthur … right? Well, here is where it gets a little bit dicey. As it turns out, he has not actually told anyone as to what he is doing with the Bishop, and in the aforementioned sneak peek, he’s not altogether honest with Miles as to why he’s at the church. It’s unusual behavior for Arthur, given what we know about him. So why do this? It’s probably because he knows, at least on some level, that this isn’t something everyone else will be on board with right away. It’s almost as though he wants to prove to himself that he can balance everything before telling everyone else what he’s come to figure out.

Just in case you do want a few more details about what’s coming, know that Claire is a young woman in recovery. It’s troubling that there is a Friend Suggestion for her now, given that Arthur was led to think that everyone was okay with her. If that isn’t the case, the stakes within this episode could be more specific and serious than ever.
