Batwoman, Nancy Drew snag full-season pick-ups at The CW
Today, the network confirmed that they have picked up both Batwoman and Nancy Drew to a full season, meaning that each show is going to get a chance to air in total 22 episodes. This is fantastic news for both shows given that it allows for each one of them to have a full run before they have to make a decision on the future.

When you think about why the network wanted to go ahead and do this, that answer is fairly simple — they know that they’ve got winners in both of these shows from top to bottom. When it comes to Batwoman, for example, you’ve got a series that is getting more viewers live than any other on the schedule — that will likely decline as the season progresses (it often does for most new shows), but it’s still an impressive start. It’s also the second-strongest show in the demo behind only The Flash.
While Nancy Drew, meanwhile, is not knocking any ratings out of the park, there is also this to consider — we’re talking here about a show that is performing at least reasonably better than All American, which had this same timeslot last year. The ratings for the football drama were boosted at the start of season 2 after a summer’s worth of streaming — it’s possible that something similar could happen here. If nothing else, The CW has made new episodes of Nancy Drew available on its app.
Consider both of these announcements yet another sign that no network does as good of a job promoting their properties as The CW. They rarely cancel shows unless they feel they have to, and they also find a time in order to allow them to build an audience.
