We don’t think we have to spell out too much why we like Dr. Confalone coming back on the show. Just think about it — at the end of last season, she helped Gibbs to realize that it was okay to change and burn some potential rules. Meanwhile, we also had a chance in order to see Sloane open up to her about some feelings that she was dealing with. Did we get a good sense that something was coming for her and Gibbs within that episode? We wouldn’t be willing to go that far, but it was clear that there were some feelings there and it was a foundation. That’s something that has already been tackled on the show this season.
So what can you expect to see throughout this episode in terms of specifics? Then be sure to get a glimpse of the full NCIS season 17 episode 5 synopsis below:
“Wide Awake” – NCIS investigates Marine Corporal Laney Alimonte (Camryn Grimes) after evidence suggests she murdered her neighbor while being treated for insomnia by a hypnotherapist. Also, Gibbs befriends his new neighbors after the 9-year-old’s baseball crashes through his window, on NCIS, Tuesday, Oct. 22 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Laura San Giacomo guest stars as Doctor Grace Confalone.
What we wonder about the Gibbs storyline is this: Why choose to befriend his new neighbors? What does this mean for him? Maybe it’s a chance for him to just open up, and establish maybe some bonds that were not quite there before.
