Mayans MC season 2 episode 2 preview: Can EZ, Angel repair things?

Mayans MC

Mayans MC is a show that is all about brotherhood. With that in mind, it makes sense that the two actual brothers on this series get on the same page entering season 2 episode 2.

At the end of the season 2 premiere tonight, you had a chance to see EZ Reyes make the decision that he needed to get on the same page with Angel. He knew that the truth about Happy being responsible for his mother’s death and now is the time to do something about it … if he wants to do something about it, anyway. Judging from EZ showing up to Angel’s front door, he’s ready to do something. They just need to conjure up some sort of a plan to best make that work.

It’s going to be the personal story of EZ and Angel that best ground the season — or at least give it a focus in a world where there is so much other stuff going on. Remember that there are several factions constantly at work within the world — you’ve got the Galindo cartel, the rebellion, and then also the DEA. When you think back to the operation at the end of season 1, it is so easy to say that EZ did everything for Potter and had a new lease on life. Yet, with this guy, nothing is ever so simple. That’s why you’ve still got Potter around, interrogating Felipe and preparing to make more of his own next moves.

In typical Mayans MC fashion, the synopsis for season 2 episode 2 doesn’t give much away on the surface: “As EZ and Angel reconnect, complications arise for the M.C. and Galindo.” It’s when you break down the latter part of this that is where the complications start to get a tad more interesting. Take, for example, what the complications for the Galindo are at the moment. Emily is already onto Miguel, who is doing what he can in order to still operate in secret and saddle her with unfortunate tasks at the home.

For those curious, the title for this episode in “Xaman-Ek” is a reference to the Mayan deity, known as a guide for all merchants. With the regular sort of business operations that you see on a show like this, especially with the Mayans MC still in the midst of the drug trade, maybe there’s an unconscious belief that this god is hovering over them.

Expect an intense, crazy season — but would you expect nothing less from this show?
