The Affair season 5 episode 2 preview: Joanie searches for Ben

What lies ahead on The Affair season 5 episode 2? There is another new episode coming to Showtime in a week, and the emotion from the premiere is going to be very much clear. Yet, at the same time there will be a push to move the story forward, to allow some of these characters to sense their next steps and find a way to get their journey going to intriguing new places.

Following the premiere, here is what we know: Vik is dead, and Helen is going to be spending some time mourning him. Yet, at the same time she’s going to find it best to try and move forward, and she will assume that the best way in order to do so is by establishing a new emotional connection. One of the people who will bond with is actor Sasha Mann, who we met in the closing minutes of the premiere.

Janelle turns to Carl for support; production for the movie commences; Sasha takes an interest in Helen.

Based on the promo that aired following the premiere, you are going to see Noah get rather upset about this notion that Helen is getting closer to Sasha. He doesn’t like it, and it seems as though the main reason for that is simply that he feels like she is falling for a shadow self. Sasha is trying to just be him; it’s a pretend reflection without some of the flaws. Sasha may be interested in getting to know her because of the character, and also the fact that Helen is so very much different from any other person he spends time with on a regular basis.

What about Joanie?

The promo for the next new episode also indicated that we’re going to have a chance to see Anna Paquin’s character hunt down answers on Allison — and eventually, it’s going to lead to her searching for Ben. There is no guarantee he is still alive in the future, but she is still going to be looking.
