Outlander: 2019 PCAs voting open for Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe

The People’s Choice Awards have been good over the years to Outlander … at least in terms of winning awards. Getting a lot of airtime for them is a completely different story, though we don’t think we need to conjure up memories of a couple of years back when they were largely ignored. Back then, the awards show was on CBS — now, it’s migrating over to E! and there is a chance for the Starz drama to be swimming in nominations.

Last year, eligibility rules made voting for Outlander a little bit tricky. This year, it’s easier! The fourth season of the series aired on Starz within the eligibility window and in theory, it could be eligible across a multitude of categories — think The Show of 2019, The Drama Show of 2019, The Comedy Show of 2019, The Male TV Star of 2019 (Sam Heughan), The Female TV Star of 2019 (Caitriona Balfe), or The Drama TV Star of 2019 (pick either, or someone else!). There’s also two other categories in the Sci-Fi / Fantasy Show of 2019 and the Bingeworthy Show of 2019 that it could have some eligibility for. If you love Outlander, then you obviously have a lot of choices.

How can you vote for Outlander, or any other show of your choosing? Write-in voting is open between now and August 16, and a flood of Outlander-related choices could go a long way to determining nominations. The official voting, meanwhile, starts on September 4 — we’ll keep you posted on that.

Why does all of this matter so much for Outlander? It’s a way to directly pay tribute to the cast for their fantastic work and show them how much we value them. Outlander remains one of the most-snubbed shows from the Emmys, but to get this level of recognition from your fans is deeply rewarding. It shows that they appreciate those long hours, dealing with the conditions in Scotland and hoping that the product meets the high expectations that are out there.

Like we’ve said, Outlander has been the beneficiary of great stuff from the People’s Choice Awards before … this is your chance to do that again and help to get the show make the biggest splash possible.
