grown-ish season 2 episode 21 preview: Sophomore year ends

In “Dreams & Nightmares,” these characters are preparing for the end of sophomore year. It’s a hard thing to handle just because when summer arrives, all of these people will be going home and start to adjust to a different life.

In high school, summer vacations were different. You had an opportunity to still spend time with some of your friends since you knew that people were still around and lived in the area. It’s different in college with jobs, changing priorities, and so much more. This is where desperation sets in. It may not be intentional desperation, but with some of these characters doing their best to figure out the future, it’s desperation nonetheless. Relationships are going to change and secrets are going to come out. You don’t want to keep those clammed up for the better part of several months.

As the gang’s sophomore year ends, bottled up emotions start to unravel, causing rifts in friendships, relationships, and some interesting reconciliations.

No matter where the story goes the rest of this season, sophomore year isn’t the end of the road for this show. There is a grown-ish season 3 already confirmed at Freeform, and we presume it’s possible that we could at least see Yara Shahidi make an appearance or two over on black-ish during the hiatus. We’re not banking on much, mostly because the production of these shows is so busy and time-consuming. Thing in terms of more than 20 episodes for both of them!

Be prepared for grown-ish season 3, and the arrival of junior year, to be coming onto Freeform in the new year. They should make an announcement with even more details at some point a little later this fall, so keep your eyes peeled.
