The Bachelorette spoilers: Jed Wyatt – girlfriend drama will play a role

Before The Bachelorette with Hannah Brown comes to a close this season, rest assured — the saga of Jed Wyatt and his former girlfriend will be a part of the story.

For those who haven’t heard just yet, Jed has been embroiled in a scandal for weeks over the relationship that he had with Haley Stevens, a woman who claims she was in a relationship with Jed leading up to and during his time on the show. However, she claims that following his time on the series he effectively ghosted her, ending things until she went to the press with photographic evidence and text messages. None of this looks good on Jed and it accentuates the notion that he went on the show “for the wrong reasons” (which he confirmed himself in the context of his music career) rather than wanting to be with Hannah Brown.

Regardless of what happens moving forward on the show with Jed, show host Chris Harrison promises that there will be a chance to have him tell his side of the story. Speaking via ET Online at the recent Men Tell All taping, he passed along the following message:

“Whether it’s Luke or it’s Hannah or Jed, let these people speak … We heard Jed’s girlfriend speak [to the press] … She was emotional and very believable. We know that there was a relationship there. Let’s give him a chance to speak, and you’re going to get to hear him do that on live TV.”

Whether or not Jed wins anyone over is yet to be seen, given that he will present most likely a side that is more favorable to himself — it makes sense given that much of his career as a country artist is on the line. The big lesson from this whole experience, whether you like Jed or not, is that it’s risky to do this show expecting a platform. If you do something that is either untoward or has the perceptive of that behind the scenes, it will get uncovered and people will chastise you for it.
