Agents of SHIELD season 6 episode 9 preview: The reunion
Unfortunately, that may be the only good news given what the bad news is: The threat of the shrike is still out there. The bulk of season 6 to date has revolved around trying to figure out how to stop this threat … and whether or not Sarge is someone to be trusted along the way. We do have a feeling that this is going to continue throughout the weeks to come, but within “Collision Course (Part 2)” his presence is essential. He’s one of the only lifelines that the SHIELD team has. Even if Simmons and Fitz are thrilled to be back around some of the other people they love, there is no time for a smile or talk about that time they saw evil versions of each other make out. There are other priorities and they’re going to have to move quickly. (Here’s to hoping that FitzSimmons are going to be able to update themselves on the go with this situation.)

No time for the team to play catch-up, there’s a planet to save.

So will they actually save the planet in this episode? It’s hard to believe that they do for good and even if one threat is defeated, another may rise from the ashes and cause some chaos of its own. There are still five more episodes to go this season and Agents of SHIELD isn’t about giving you multiple episodes of characters relaxing on the beach. (Those moments seem to be reserved only for Coulson flashback sequences.)
