While it’s been great to have the show around for a long stretch of time this summer, unfortunately, you’re gonna have to wait for a while to see the remainder of the season (per Mjsbigblog). Think along the lines of August 14, where the show is going to be moving to Wednesday nights following the America’s Got Talent results show. This is a chance for it to move to an earlier timeslot and while we absolutely hate the hiatus, we like the idea of it getting a little bit more attention for viewers who may have to go to bed a little bit too early to check it out in full.
So what are we gonna get when the show comes back? There’s no real need for it to reinvent the wheel or bring something different. So long as there are more great artists and memorable performances, we’re going to be happy. This is a show about collaboration, growth, and showing how the musical sausage is made. There’s been some cool stuff so far!
Perhaps just as importantly, Songland has also shown that this is a viable show for artists. After all, will.i.am’s song “Be Nice” from the show has performed well on the other side of its debut here! Meanwhile, we’ve also seen good results from “Green Light,” the song performed originally by Able Heart on his way to giving it to the Jonas Brothers. There are hits that can come from this and we think that it will make it all the more appealing to future songwriters if there is a season 2 down the road. We’re optimistic for now — let’s just hope viewers remember the show is on when it comes back in several weeks’ time.
