Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 14 preview: Lina returns!
Before Jane the Virgin concludes its run on The CW this summer, didn’t you think that we’d get a chance to see Lina on the show again? This season is an elongated curtain call, and a chance to see so many familiar faces again no matter when they were last on.
With Lina, what makes her absence in recent years so prominent is simply because she and Jane were at one point so close. Yet, that does happen in life sometimes. Just because you were close to someone once upon a time doesn’t mean you stay close to them. Things happen and life — or in this case a massive time jump — ends up getting in the way.
Below, CarterMatt has the official Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 14 synopsis with some other news as to what’s coming up:
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS – When Lina (guest star Diane Guerrero) comes to town, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is excited to see her until Lina asks her for a favor. Rafael (Justin Baldoni) begins to work with Petra (Yael Grobglas) again but old tensions create new problems between them. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) creates a plan to pressure the network to pick-up his pilot. Meanwhile, Jane and Rafael have been looking for a solution to one of their problems and think Alba (Ivonne Coll) just might be the answer. Andrea Navedo also stars. Neema Barnette directed the episode written by Liz Sczudlo & Madeline Hendricks (#514). Original airdate 6/26/2019.
The question that immediately comes to mind after seeing this is simple: What sort of favor are we talking about here? More than likely, this is the sort of thing that she isn’t all that game to do just because of the way in which the synopsis introduces it.
As for what else we’re getting…
It’s easy to be psyched to watch Rogelio do what he can in order to get a pilot on TV, mostly because as a TV journalist, that’s something that we’ve long imagined having a chance to do. What sort of games do actors and producers play to get what they want in terms of network TV programming? This is especially funny to us given that Jaime Camil just got a new show picked up over on CBS with Broke — the process that’s used on Jane the Virgin to greenlight potential Rogelio shows is almost certainly exaggerated for humor, but all of this is still funny to think about.
Quick programming note before we go: This is the last Jane the Virgin episode next week before the show goes on a brief one-week hiatus. With the July 4 holiday coming up, the folks over at The CW want to avoid that in any way possible.
