Absentia season 2: Stana Katic live-chat announced for premiere day!
To go along with Friday being the premiere episode on Amazon, we also come bearing news on a Stana Katic live chat! At a soon to-be-announced point in that day, the star/executive producer will take on a wide array of questions via the official Facebook for the show. That’s a chance to get to know something more about filming, Emily Byrne’s journey, or some fun on-set antics featuring the cast and crew. As intense as season 2 may have been production-wise, we’re sure that there were some opportunities for levity along the way.
The season 2 premiere has been a long time coming. It’s been more than a year since the first season streamed on Amazon and in Emily’s life, some things have also changed for her. You’ll see her still tackling some demons from her past while working on some personal relationships. She’ll have an enthusiasm about her life, but that’s not going to stop certain elements of pain from creeping in. This is a mystery show, but it’s also one about trauma and how you recover from it.
Hopefully, there’s going to be plenty of other great Absentia-related content out there in the days leading up to the premiere; things have been a little bit quiet on the publicity front as of late, but we honestly think that the show has a fantastic opportunity for attention this summer. It’s premiering at a time in which there isn’t too much broadcast competition on the air and, because of the show’s episode length and its thrill-ride nature, you can easily work your way through all of a season in a single weekend. it’s a great time to bring in new viewers looking to get away from summer repeats and dive into a brand new world.

What to watch out for
On Friday, we are going to be back with a flurry of episode reviews plus also some of our season 3 hopes and some of what could be coming up next. This is probably Christmas for the Absentia fandom — we know that the show’s already aired in some territories including north of the border in Canada, but this marks the biggest promotional push we’ll have seen to date. (You can check out some of our coverage so far over here — there are some reviews up from season 2 episodes that aired in Canada, so be forewarned.)
