Legacies season 2: Who’s making the case for Caroline appearance?

Legacies season 2 isn’t going to be coming onto The CW this fall, which is rough since it feels like we’ve been waiting around for it for quite some time already. We know that there are a TON of things that we’re expecting to see, including some new supernatural beings and some returning characters.

Of course, it’s clear that Caroline is one of those said returning characters we’re the most eager to have on board. She’s such an iconic part of the original Vampire Diaries that there’s always going to be a spot for her, and given her ties to Alaric, Josie, and Lizzie, it already makes some sense that she would be turning up at some point in the future. It mostly comes down to finding the right way to do it — and also making sure that Candice King is open to the gig. We really think that the ball is mostly in her court right now when it comes to a future appearance.

Speaking via TV Guide in a new piece, here is some of that Matthew Davis had to say on the subject of wanting to get King back on the show:

“I would love for her to come by … Candice [is] a mom, and she’s enjoying her life right now. She’s always welcome to come through if that’s what she wants to do because Caroline would be a welcome addition to our storyline.”

The good news with Caroline is that there’s always going to be room for her to appear if King is open — there’s no real rush to feature her, though we do wonder somewhat if Legacies is going to ever struggle with trying to figure out the right way in order to continually write the character off of the show. How many reasons for Caroline being gone can they come up with?

We imagine that we will learn more about Legacies season 2 a little bit later this summer, and we know the door is certainly open for another familiar face from The Vampire Diaries to appear — Chris Wood. After all, the finale raised MANY a question as to if Kai could rear his head again on this show and if he does, we gotta believe that it’s going to be all sorts of chaotic and interesting.

We expect, at least for now, that season 2 of Legacies is going to be premiering at some point this coming October.
