Fuller House season 5 photo: Preparing for the start of filming!
In a post on Instagram, it was none other than cast member Jodie Sweetin herself who first confirmed that she was getting ready to kick-start the latest batch of new episodes — and she posted a certain famous red door along the way! (It’s always open…)
Filming in front of a live studio audience is going to be taking place starting on Friday, and there are some exciting things that we’re sure you will see right away in the season — think along the lines of Stephanie Tanner as a mother. That came about thanks to Kimmy at the end of this past season, and we’ve been left in limbo for a while now waiting to see what’s next.
There’s a pretty fascinating question that you gotta wonder now amidst all of this, and it’s rather simple: Are we going to get some sort of big time jump from the end of season 4 to the start of season 5? There is a certain part of our mind that feels like taking such leaps is pretty inevitable for a show like this, largely due to the fact that there are kid actors and while the world of television may be capable of many things, they’re not so capable of slowing down the aging process. Once that ball is rolling, you gotta find a way to make it work with the story. You’ll see Stephanie as a mom, but we’re sure the baby will be at least a few months old.
Beyond that, we imagine in our head gatherings, joyous celebrations, funny one-liners, and the wolfpack howling at least one more time. With this being the final season, this is the opportunity to pay homage to everything from this show and Full House both. We don’t know if there’s going to be another spin-off in a couple of decades (we doubt it), so you may as well go ahead and get out of your system everything that you want to do now. The only other hope that you’ve got is a revival movie, and would you really want to bank on that as your metaphorical key to tie everything up.
As for when season 5 will premiere…
Probably not until a little bit later this year, think along the lines of December. (Yep, that is a super-long time to wait. How rude.)
