Manifest (Michaela & Jared) vs. Wynonna Earp (Wynonna & Nicole) – Crime Dynamic Duos 2019
With today’s duo showdown, we’re getting a little bit supernatural — or, at least spotlight two shows and duos that are supernatural somewhat in nature! With Michaela & Jared of Manifest, you’ve got characters working to constantly bridge the gap between what is understood and the callings that continue to raise questions. Meanwhile, Wynonna & Nicole of Wynonna Earp represent two different sides of the same coin when it comes to stopping very bad stuff going on in Purgatory. Both pairs are captivating, but in true Dynamic Duos fashion, only one will continue the journey into round 4.
If you’ve been around for past editions of Crime Dynamic Duos, then you know a thing or two about how this works — at the bottom of this article is a poll to vote for who you want to see advance! One duo will, and at the end of the month, we’ll officially crown the champion in all of their glory.
How voting works – Vote however often you would like! (Technical instructions for multiple voting can be found right above the poll.) We will keep this poll open until Tuesday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. The winner of this battle will be squaring off against either Halstead & Upton of Chicago PD or Donna & Harvey of Suits, who are each currently fighting an intense battle to see who has the ability to surge forward and make it into the final four.
You can see the full bracket (including start dates for each individual round) in the graphic at the top of this article.
The competitors
Michaela & Jared, Manifest (#5 seed) – They began this tournament as first-time entrants from a show that has been off the air for weeks; with that, there was no guarantee that they would progress far! Yet, thousands of votes have proven them to be worth combatants as we now see if they can find a way to climb to the top of this podium.
Do we know that there are deep-seated romantic feelings here? Sure, but that’s not the only reason they are interesting. It’s also their professional history and how they find themselves almost constantly now in a position where they have to both rely on the skills they have and make sense of an ever-changing world. There’s mystery here, but also just enough in terms of stable character interaction for the story to feel grounded in something more.
Wynonna & Nicole, Wynonna Earp (#2 seed) – If you need someone in uniform to stop a problem in Purgatory, you call Nicole Haught. Maybe if you need a demon eradicated once and for all, Wynonna is your woman. You’d be surprised to know how often these two paths intersect within this world…
We can’t say we’re shocked to see these characters, otherwise known as Wynhaught, still a part of this tournament. They fared well in Dynamic Duos last year and beyond just that, the enthusiasm out there for Wynonna Earp is at a fever-pitch with the show’s future still a dangling threat we’re waiting for someone to sew back together. We remain optimistic — there are obviously many things we’d like to see, but more great scenes for Wynonna & Nicole to take down bad guys (in their own unique ways) is far up on the list.
Now, we turn this over to you
Be sure to vote for who you want to see advance below!
I can’t see the poll; what do I do? – If you are on mobile, scroll to the bottom of the page and click to view the non-AMP version. If that does not work, give the poll a moment to load! On some mobile browsers, it may take a moment.
How can I vote more than once? – Just refresh the page! If you are having trouble casting multiple votes, try switching your browser, your device, or visiting the page under private browsing or incognito mode. There should be many handy guides online explaining how to do so if interested.
