Criminal Minds (Reid & JJ) vs. Hawaii Five-0 (Junior & Tani) – Crime Dynamic Duos 2019
For this particular battle, we’re wrapping up the first round! It’s been fun seeing all of the different showdowns that have taken place, and we’re certainly excited about this one given that you’ve got Reid & JJ of Criminal Minds squaring off against Junior & Tani of Hawaii Five-0. Both duos are a part of long-running crime series, and both have also been linked to each other in a way that is a little bit more substantial than mere partners. Yet, only one of the two of them is going to move forward and within this piece, we’re kicking off the battle to see who it is!
If you’ve been around for past editions of Crime Dynamic Duos, then you know a thing or two about how this works — at the bottom of this article is a poll to vote for who you want to see advance! One duo will, and at the end of the month, we’ll officially crown the champion in all of their glory.
How voting works – Vote however often you would like! (Technical instructions for multiple voting can be found right above the poll.) We will keep this poll open until Wednesday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. The winner of this showdown will have a rather-tough task ahead of them, as they are going to be squaring off against either Jamie & Eddie of Blue Bloods or Sebastian & Gregorio from NCIS: New Orleans.
You can see the full bracket (including start dates for each individual round) in the graphic at the top of this article.
The competitors
Reid & JJ, Criminal Minds (#2 seed) – This has certainly been a fascinating time to be a fan of either one of these characters (or both!), mostly based on the way in which season 14 came to a close. We think that there have been people who love the two for the relationship that they have — whether that’s been purely platonic or something a little bit more than that probably just depends on what you’ve wanted to read (pun intended) into them.
You can’t uncork what’s already out there in regards to the events of the season 14 finale, but really regardless of what the writers decide for this relationship, we’ll remember these characters the most for their dedication to the job, their willingness to protect each other when the chips were down, and also their empathy. They have the ability to see the humanity in almost anyone, and that’s why they are really still alive.
Junior & Tani, Hawaii Five-0 (#7 seed) – Our final entrants to Dynamic Duos this year are a pair who has seemingly passed the getting-to-know-you phase at this point. They’ve been a part of the Task Force for a while and understand what it means and some of the various ins and outs. They’re also good together because they each have different strengths. With Tani, you’ve got someone who is a little bit more of a risk-taker and will make the move in the field that no one else will. With Junior, meanwhile, you’ve got someone with a little more quiet determination — he’s by the book and a tad more regimented, though he’s shown over time that he knows how to have fun.
We’ll have to wait and see whether or not these characters end up getting together — we suppose that for now, the #1 priority is more just seeing if they have the ability to move on to the next round.

How can I vote more than once? – Just refresh the page! If you are having trouble casting multiple votes, try switching your browser, your device, or visiting the page under private browsing or incognito mode. There should be many handy guides online explaining how to do so if interested.
