911 season 2 episode 14 return date: The story of ‘Broken’
What gives here? Doesn’t it feel like we just got the show back? The answer there is a clear “yes.” Yes, it does feel like we just got the show back on the air. Yet, this happens sometimes with shows that are trying to stick around until May sweeps and because there are so few episodes left this season, Fox wants to stretch them out a little while … such as April 15, when the series is back with “Broken.”
This hiatus may also be useful to get the show on the other side of the emotional arc that we’ve seen play out as of late with Maddie, Doug, and Chimney — none of that is necessarily going to go away, but it would be quite useful for the show to turn the page and get us to a point where there is all sorts of other drama coming up. Of course, that includes some more emergencies for the team to take on and then also some character struggles.

When Metro LA’s 9-1-1 system is hit with a massive system-wide power outage, the call center must go old school in responding to emergencies. The first responders must deal with explosions in multiple homes and a difficult child birth. Meanwhile, Michael confronts Bobby about parenting his kids in the all-new “Broken” episode of 9-1-1 airing Monday, April 15 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (NIN-214) (TV-14 L, V)
We’ve certainly seen some stories like this before, one where a power outage threaten the ability of workers to do their jobs — think in terms of NCIS, The Night Shift, New Amsterdam, and more for examples of it. The main difference here is that this show focuses on the call center — the first line of defense for stopping any problem. With their system outage, it’s going to be tough to even get firefighters or paramedics out to the scene of a disaster.
As for the struggle of Michael and Bobby, we can’t say we’re shocked to see some sort of tension go down here. The moment that we saw Bobby and Athena get into a committed relationship, it felt like we were going to be due for a clash of character with these two. Neither one of them may be 100% wrong, but they’ve got some clear stuff that needs to be discussed. If it didn’t happen now, it’s almost certain that this would be something that comes about later. It’s hard to imagine a situation where it doesn’t.
Expect a few other surprised that aren’t mentioned here, including some complicated rescues — Fox hasn’t revealed too many details about what’s happening in their rescue-plots in advance as of late.
