‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5: Rumored drama with star, creator on set
When you are a show that deals with subject matter than often be intense, dramatic, and difficult to deal with, it should not come as that big of a surprise when there are a clashes that happen behind the scenes. However, what is a little bit more surprising is that this is the second time in the past two seasons that we have seen some sort of incident arise behind the scenes with creator Kurt Sutter and one of the actors.
According to a report from Deadline, there was a shouting match that unfolded on the show’s set earlier yesterday between Sutter and Tommy Flanagan, best known for his role as Chibs. There were no punches thrown and the police were not called, but this was still dramatic enough that word has leaked about it publicly (which is pretty rare for on-set disagreements).
Ultimately, the issue with this show is that you are dealing with people who are so passionate about their work and the product being put on the screen, Sutter included, that it is almost inevitable that you are going to see a few fights occur here and there. So far, this incident is not nearly on the level as what happened last year with Sutter and star Charlie Hunnam, which eventually led to a sit-down meeting between the two parties and FX programming head John Landgraf in order for the group to sort out their differences.
Production is almost wrapped on this season of the show, with shooting on the season finale starting up Monday with Sutter directing. Let’s hope this issue is already in the past, and everyone is back to making some great TV already.
