Curious in learning The Orville season 2 episode 12 return date … or to get another dose of big news on what’s next? Well, we’re blasting a lot of that your way within this article … but let’s start with the bad news. It’s gonna take some take to see some more space adventures back on the air.

So how long, specifically? The show’s going to be coming back on Thursday, April 11 with the first of the final three episodes. This is one that is called “Sanctuary,” and it seems to be bringing back a recurring theme for this season — secrets, and groups of people harboring them. We’ve gone on this ride already with the Kaylon, and it seems like the Moclans are going to be the next people who jump out and yell ‘surprise” — it’s probably not going to go quite like this, but it’s something that could hold sweeping changes.

So are the Moclans plotting to overtake The Orville, or is this secret a little more of the lighthearted variety? Hopefully, we’re not getting a repeat of Bortus and the simulator room — even if you liked that polarizing episode, there is a clear “been there, done that” feel with it already. We’d like to think that the writers aren’t delivering a second betrayal story in a single season, but if they make it distinctive enough, anything is possible.

How could this story end?

Hopefully, with some epic battle in outer space that challenges the ability of Ed and Kelly to get the job done. It’d be nice to see one romantic subplot stick, and to get a tease (even a minor one) for what a season 3 could look like. Anything that causes The Orville fans to plead further to Fox for another season is something we’ll happily take! This show is inventive, funny, and deeply moving when it wants to be. We’re not altogether sure how Fox could want anything more with their programming than this … but we’ve also been here before with them. Heck, we’ve been here before with another space show in Firefly. Yeah, we know that there were different executives way back when at the network, but we are still salty.
