Shadowhunters season 3 episode 13 preview: A hunt for Jonathan
So what comes next? Entering Shadowhunters season 3 episode 13 on Freeform next week, we do think there is this feeling of turning the page. Clary has been located by Jace, Alec, and Luke, whereas Simon may finally be on the upswing. There are still some other issues that need to be attended to, and some of this episode could be focusing on that.

The title for next week’s episode is “Beati Bellicosi,” which translates to mean “blessed are the warriors.” It is the slogan of the wolf organization and that points towards episode 13 being an important one for Luke. This is an opportunity to dive into what his goals are now that Clary is found. Is he going to hunt down Jonathan? If so, the synopsis below suggests that he’s going to be recruiting someone in order to help with the efforts:
Jordan and the Praetor try to track down Heidi, while the Shadowhunters try to locate Jonathan. Meanwhile, Luke looks to Maryse for help and Isabelle gets a possible lead on information on what is really going on in the Clave prisons.
Luke will obviously have his own methods for missions, whereas the likes of Alec and Izzy will do the same. Finding Jonathan is of the utmost importance, largely because it’s hard for anyone to feel safe with him out there. Clary seemed to be the only thing that was slightly shifting his morality and even she could only do so much to disguise the true monster that lied within. We’ve already seen in the past what this guy is capable of, even if he was wearing a different face. The true villain lies within and is clear.
What else do we want to see?
While it may not be mentioned within the confines of the synopsis, we are hoping to a buildup of all of the relationships currently entrenched in this world. For Clary and Jace, they really haven’t had an abundance of time to actually be together since the very start of their relationship. This is a chance to make up for lost time … while of course also taking on all of the monsters who are out there and likely want them dead.
Meanwhile, we anticipate Magnus still working to sort out his mortality (this is almost a storyline that could last the remainder of the season) while Simon and Izzy start to grow closer. After going through what they did on tonight’s episode, won’t there be a stronger bond there?
