MacGyver season 3 episode 17 return date: When’s it back + what’s next?

All right, let’s not make you wait any futher for the return date — MacGyver season 3 episode 17 is airing come Friday, March 8 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. It’s a one-week break, something that’s happening across the TV schedule. We’re coming out of February sweeps after tonight, so think of the hiatus as the TV industry taking a big nap and readying itself for what’s next. More than likely, CBS will hand you an episode on March 8 and then another March 15, and that’s before sending you down the annual March Madness hiatus where everything becomes about basketball for a couple of weeks (including our own annual tradition of picking our teams based on the cutest animal mascots!). If you’ve been a part of March Madness over the years then you know it’s coming … the looming specter of disappointing brackets.

Now that you know when MacGyver is coming back, let’s get to the next order of business — telling you what’s going to be coming up and whether or not it’s worth your time. “Seeds + Permafrost + Feather” – MacGyver and team are asked to solve a locked-door mystery when a man working inside a remote, ultra-secure international seed vault disappears, on MACGYVER, Friday, March 8 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This episode feels like part magic trick and part escape room. You gotta figure out, first and foremost, how the guy escaped; then, you gotta figure out where he is now. Was he ever truly there? Was he a ghost? (Not to be confused, of course, with the MacGyver villain known as The Ghost.) Is there some sort of secret tunnel that Mac and the team discover? We’re all for the secret tunnel angle, mostly because that seems apropos for this show … and it also feels like the story for a National Treasure sequel. More crazy conspiracies and secret corridors on MacGyver!

Obviously, beyond all of that, we gotta have more sentimental moments with this cast. When you have a cast with Lucas Till, Justin Hires, Meredith Eaton, and Tristin Mays in it to go along with Tran, you don’t wanna waste them!
