‘Parks and Recreation’ season 5 spoilers: A ‘Veep’ casting connection
If you look back at the Primetime Emmy Awards that aired late last month, there was one moment that was so out of left field that we would have never seen it coming: Julia Louis-Dreyfus going on stage and starting to read what was Amy Poehler’s acceptance speech instead.
So now that these two actresses got an opportunity to spend some awkward time together at the awards show, isn’t it appropriate that an upcoming episode of “Parks and Recreation” features a visit from the “Veep” star’s husband? According to a new report from TVLine, writer and former “Saturday Night Live” player Brad Hall is going to be appearing on an upcoming episode of the hit NBC show, where he is going to be playing a gifted architect by the name of Wreston Sarnof from the nearby town of Eagleton. With this in mind, it’s really not surprising at all that Poehler’s Leslie Knope would want to hire his services from someone who has these sort of skills … but there is a twist.
When you consider that Eagleton has a pretty lengthy past when it comes to completely and totally punking the city of Pawnee, Leslie is going to be rather paranoid as she hires Hall’s character to design a new park for the city. Our guess as to how this turns out? That she is going to get paranoid and potentially cause the project way more trouble than she really needs to. (After all, this would be in many ways a classic Leslie “move” given her own history with awkward gaffes.)
What do you think about this casting, and do you want to see Louis-Dreyfus making an appearance next?
