The Masked Singer review: Who is the Rabbit, Alien, and Lion? New clues

Tonight, The Masked Singer is coming back on Fox with another four performances — but alas, there is no Monster or Peacock! We’re going to be talking tonight about the Rabbit, the Alien, the Lion, and the Unicorn — who haven’t been on the show together at the same time before. We also saw at the start of the episode these four all actually have a brief performance together that sounded so much better than we would’ve thought entering the episode.

We’re going to be offering up some takes on all of the performers below — be sure to refresh throughout for more!

The Rabbit, “That Girl is Poison” – This was fun — really fun. One of the best performances of the entire season. We like that Ken Jeong finally suggested that the Rabbit could be Jenny McCarthy’s husband Donnie Wahlberg … but we still think it’s probably Joey Fatone. His clue tonight about magic does throw us off slightly, though, mostly because we don’t know if that’s something that the ‘NSYNC member is really all that into.

The Unicorn, “I Don’t Care” – The Unicorn isn’t the best singer, and clearly, this was the show doing its best in order to support her while Thing 1 and Thing 2 danced in the background. (That’s what we are going to assume that those were.) This was a really fun performance by and large, though — we’re not really watching this show for the sake of people hitting all the notes. Her clue was a typewriter, which doesn’t mean much to us. We still think it is Beverly Hills, 90210 to Tori Spelling.

The Alien, “Happy” – This was interesting — vocally, it almost sounded like a different singer tonight! That’s enough to probably make some people feel like perhaps the Alien was holding back on her first two occasions on the show. We do think that she may have been deliberately hiding her voice, but the La Toya Jackson fire is burning brought now thanks to that Indiana police badge. Jackson did a reality show about police training set in (you guessed it) Indiana.

The Lion, “California Dreamin'” – The Lion is great at two different things — performing, and then also really working to throw people off from who she really is. There wasn’t much here to go on, other than that she really is quite good as a performer!
