Siren season 2 episode 2 preview: Can the new mermaids stay secret?

Are you excited to check out Siren season 2 episode 2? Following the events of the premiere, we know that there are some high stakes! We’re going to see, over the course of the next new episode, Ryn alongside Ben and Maddie do everything that they can in order to help the new pack of mermaids who are in Bristol Cove. We’ve gotten a chance to see some of them now one episode in, and while we’re still not sure that more is better, we’ll still spend some time with them and try to be able to make that determination on our own.

So what is specifically coming up? Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Siren season 2 episode 2 synopsis with some other information as to what lies ahead:

Ben, Maddie and Ryn desperately try and keep the newly arrived mermaid pack hidden from the rest of the town, but the new mermaids’ quick degradation on land forces them to get them back to the sea unnoticed during the town’s Mermaid Beauty Contest. Elaine grows more suspicious of Helen and her connections to their family.

Clearly, at the moment there is a lot to be excited about when it comes to the upcoming season, whether it be getting a chance to dive into some local town tradition or to see Ben, Maddie, and Ryn do some of what they do best — try to be heroes! This show is really the best when some of its characters are in their element and with that in mind, we love seeing these three when they are trying to help mermaids and to make sure that there isn’t any sort of war based on hate or a lack of understanding.

Given that Siren season 2 has a longer episode run than season 1, we do think that the writers are going to take their time developing this story. Luckily, we’re more than fine to be patient — at least so long as the story continues to deliver when the dust finally settles. That’s the thing we gotta sit around and wait to see more than anything.

One thing that we don’t have to wait to find out are the ratings for the premiere — that’s certainly something we’ll be talking about over the coming days. Hopefully, the lengthy hiatus isn’t going to do all that much when it comes to the show’s numbers!
