The Blacklist season 6 episode 4 preview: What’s next in ‘The Pawnbrokers’

The Blacklist season 6 episode 4 carries with it the title of “The Pawnbrokers,” but we’ve got a feeling that this is going to be a little bit different from an episode of Pawn Stars. This episode will have a task of trying to further along Reddington’s prison arc, while at the same time making sure that some of the other important threads pick up some momentum as well … with Samar being among them. We keep hearing that she’s going to have a critical arc this season, one that will test both her and her relationship with Aram. Could this be a foundational episode for that, or at least a continuation of the story we’ve seen to date? Both are distinct possibilities.

01/18/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Friday) : Red (James Spader) acclimates to his new surroundings in federal prison, where he is challenged by an old rival. Samar (Mozhan Marno) goes undercover to stop a black market organization that fronts cash to criminals. Meanwhile, Liz (Megan Boone) and Jennifer (guest star Fiona Dourif) continue their investigation into Red’s past. Coy Stewart and Donna Murphy also guest star. TV-14 L, V

This episode is going to be a fun one, if nothing else, for Mozhan as a performer — who wouldn’t want to take part in an undercover mission like this? There’s a lot of different ways you can play it depending on what sort of problems come up in this storyline.

As for Liz and Jennifer’s mission, we do hope that there are a few surprises in here. It does feel like the two are going to be a little less challenged in their search than they would be if Reddington was still on the outside. Yet, looks can be deceiving … right? We’ve certainly seen enough of this series over the years to know that nothing is altogether what it seems and it’s one of the reasons this show has been so incredibly compelling over the years. There’s always a chance someone close to Reddington catches onto them, or they run into some sort of dead end along the way. If they do find the answers they so desperately seek about his true identity, it’s not going to be easy.
