New Year’s Rockin’ Eve: Camila Cabello performs ‘Havana’
While the performances that you tend to see in Los Angeles are previously taped, you want to at least believe that they are real — beyond that, you want to feel the energy and the spirit of the room. We do think that we saw a lot of this from Cabello’s performance of “Havana.” This was a perfect song to grace New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, mostly due to the fact that it was one of the biggest songs of the year, it has an excellent music video, and it has a style and energy that is very much all its own.
Beyond the vocal of this song, who else dug the interlude before getting back into the chorus one last time?
Overall, we will say this — if you love Camila and you love New Year’s Eve, there’s a good chance that you loved this performance. We also loved how much the crowd seemed to be into it from start to finish here — there was dancing, celebrating, and the entire thing really felt like a big party. Personally, that’s some of what we want to see during some of these telecasts so they all find a way to really stand out and there’s no blending into the background.
All in all, certainly one of the better performances of the night, and there was a lot of competition here in that New Year’s Rockin’ Eve is typically littered with a number of noteworthy performers. This is one of the biggest shows of the entire year and with that in mind, we almost always get to see a number of different stars come by to commemorate the year. It’s a little bit of the past year in music, or at least however much can be crammed into a fairly short period of time.
