MacGyver season 3 in 2019: Our hopes for Mac, Jack, and others

What should lie ahead for some of your favorite MacGyver characters in 2019? In this article, we want to do our part to prognosticate! While obviously there will be a number of case-of-the-week stories, we’re focusing here on some of the personal side plots. These are the backbone to this show and we want to see all of them strengthened even more. That’s why we come bearing suggestions for every single member of the core cast.

Angus MacGyver – It’s a fairly simple question with him — where does he see his life going for the next several years? We saw him establish something different for himself in Africa at the start of the season, but that’s fallen apart and his personal life is once more in a different place. While he does love his job, we do want him to explore further if he really wants this to continue to be what he does full-time.

Jack Dalton – Odds are, you’ve read the reports that George Eads is leaving at the end of the season. If that happens, we hope that it’s something that the writers can set up long in advance. We want to make sure that the departure makes sense for the character, and we also don’t want to see him get killed off. With this, our hope is that the show takes its time writing this character off, provided that this decision sticks.

Bozer – Does he really think that Leanna is the one for him? He already explained to Riley that he wasn’t 100% sure that he could be himself around her and this is something that we hope the series does explore more in the future.

Riley – Will she ever leave the Phoenix for the Colton family? We do wonder that, but more than that, we wonder what happens with her life if things continue to stay as serious as they are for her and Billy.

Matty Webber – Following what happened at the end of the fall finale, we mostly want Matty to be able to dive back into work at the Phoenix and work on helping others. This is a big part of what makes her great! We would like for her to find love someday, but it may take some healing of her heart first.

MacGyver season 3 will return to CBS with new episodes come Friday, January 4.
