For Wesley Cole in particular, all signs point to him having a rather hard time. Remember that Natalie just got engaged and because of that, he could be somewhat spiraling and not sure what to do with himself. Clearly, there’s a part of his brain that thought that she would just wait around for him forever, and that is not actually the case.
Cole’s only going to have so much time to focus on romance though, given that there is a new murder investigation going on. This episode is also going to be a big one for the legal side of the show for a few different reasons — including the return of Thomas Lennon as Leo Getz. We’re thrilled that the writers have found a way to bring this character back so many times and that Lennon’s been game to do it. He’s the perfect actor for this version of the character and every Getz appearance feels different.
For a few more details as to what’s coming, just be sure to check out the official Lethal Weapon season 3 episode 10 synopsis below:
Cole finds himself on the rebound after Natalie’s engagement, and his new romantic interest, Julie (guest star Haley Strode), has an unexpected connection to A.D.A. Erica (guest star Nishi Munshi), complicating things at work. Meanwhile, Murtaugh worries about the connection between the murder he’s investigating and a new opportunity for Trish to serve as co-counsel on a high-profile lawsuit with Leo Getz (guest star Thomas Lennon) in the all-new “There Will Be Bud” winter premiere episode of LETHAL WEAPON airing Tuesday, Jan. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LET-310) (TV-14 L, V)
It may seem strange to say this so early, but we are actually already in the home stretch of Lethal Weapon season 3. After all, there are only fifteen episodes this season and with that, we anticipate that the story’s going to be ramping up pretty early on in the new year. Expect some high stakes, and also don’t be surprised if there is some sort of huge cliffhanger coming in the finale involving Murtaguh. If Damon Wayans does end up leaving the show, it would make some sense for the producers to have themselves covered.
