Legacies episode 7 preview: Hope versus one of her greatest fears

Legacies episode 7 is poised to come your way one week from tonight, and early signs definitely do suggest that this one is important. This is the final episode of 2018 and with that in mind, we’re absolutely hopeful that we’re going to see a wide array of interesting twists and turns. It’s a chance to dive a little bit further into Hope and Alaric’s backstories and also force them into painful, uncomfortable positions. With this being the fall finale, it’s basically a chance for the writers to go big and leave most of the audiences out there begging for more.

REMEMBRANCE DAY – As Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) hit the books to learn more about the latest creature to arrive to the school, things take a dark and twisted turn leaving her to confront one of her darkest fears. Meanwhile, Alaric (Matthew Davis) attempts to help Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) cope after his past comes back to haunt him. Quincy Fouse also stars. Angela Gomes directed the episode written by Julie Plec (#107). Original airdate 12/13/2018.

Given that this episode is being written by none other than executive producer Julie Plec herself, that gives you at least a marginally good sense of how important this particular story is. This could, in the end, be the story that satisfies one of our only criticisms with the show to date: We don’t know exactly where it is going. It’s been fun and we’ve certainly enjoyed the opportunity to dive into these characters and understand them better, but there absolutely has still be some mystery surrounding this world that builds and builds until we get to the finale. Is Landon Kirby it, or will there be a little bit of something more down the line?

No matter what it is, we do certainly hope that along the way, Legacies does not end up losing much of what has made it great: Its fantastic tone and allowing itself to revel in its own creativity and sense of fun. It’s not taking itself too seriously and we think that, in the end, that is of great benefit to it.
