Ratings: Bull season 3 tops Magnum PI; Legends of Tomorrow (mostly) even
Could the network consider flipping the Michael Weatherly series and Magnum PI? We wonder, given that Bull managed to improve to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic, tied for its best rating of the entire season. Meanwhile, Magnum PI aired an hour earlier and drew a 0.8. There are some extenuating circumstances with Monday’s numbers, most notably that Bull did not have to compete against Manifest for the week and A Very Wicked Halloween proved to not be anywhere near the same level of a threat. We’ll see what happens next week when the two shows are in direct competition again.
Still, consider this ratings bump a nice reminder that Bull, despite lower numbers in its new timeslot than it had for season 2, isn’t going anywhere in the near future. We consider it a lock for a season 4 renewal, especially since it will at that point shift over into syndication territory.
As for some other notable ratings from Monday night, The Good Doctor also benefited from a lack of Manifest as it improved to a 1.3 rating. Meanwhile, The Voice won the night overall with a 1.8 rating, much to the surprise of virtually no one.
Over on The CW, our quest to see Legends of Tomorrow improve has yet to produce any spectacular results. Monday’s episode drew a 0.3 rating that was largely even from the premiere; the fact that it didn’t drop is a good thing, but what we’re concerned about is that this season is to date down more than 30% in live viewers and in the demo from last season. Given that last season was so great, it’s hard to know what’s going on here.
