Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 2 premiere date hopes for Netflix
Perhaps the big thing, at least at the moment, is that there is already a season 2 in the works. Back when the series was being developed, potentially for The CW, one of the things that brought it to Netflix instead was the immediate two-season order that the streaming service was willing to hand down. That made the show instantly appealing, and there was a pretty clear connection there between this show and Riverdale anyway. (Riverdale airs on Netflix in most countries, save for here in the United States.)
One other thing that is especially interesting about the Sabrina series is that even before season 1 airs, there are plans and episodes in the works for season 2! In speaking on the subject in a new interview with Bloody Disgusting, series star Kiernan Shipka had the following to say:
“We went straight into the second season from the first and it’s been really so exceptionally fun to film, especially given the fact that I feel like we’re already in such a rhythm from coming out of the first season that to jump right into the second one was really, really fun and just a great opportunity to keep the momentum going.”
We of course imagine that this had to cause all sorts of paranoia for the actors while promoting season 1, knowing that there are so many different things that they have to keep secret about not just this season before viewers watch, but also the next. Some of those episodes may tend to blend together.
Not-so-surprising take – The CW is probably going to regret passing on this series. They seemed to think that bringing on board a new version of Charmed was the better move to make, and while the jury’s still out, we have a tricky time fully believing that. We’re not trying to take anything away from Charmed but it feels like audience enthusiasm (at least pre-premiere) for Sabrina has been way higher.
