The Affair season 5: Catalina Sandino Moreno leaving as series regular
According to a report from Deadline, Moreno, who played the role of Luisa on the series, is moving forward after being a part of the show for the past few years. We figure that it’s possible we’ll see her at least one more time, given her connections to Cole’s life and the likelihood that we see Joshua Jackson on at least one more occasion, but that may be it. We just want a small bit of closure to hope that some of these characters’ arcs are tied together.

Will The Affair move on without a few people who were clearly rather-important to their cast in many ways? At the moment, all of this feels somewhat strange. First, we had Ruth Wilson exiting and saying that she could not speak about the reason why she was exiting. Meanwhile, Jackson departed without too much of a comment. Now, we’ve got all of this with Moreno. It’s a really weird sort of situation and it doesn’t feel like anyone is altogether interested in giving more information in the near future.
Yet, the show is clearly going on given that Showtime renewed the series already for a final season, one that we feel is going to focus heavily on Helen and Noah. We don’t mind, given that the two characters are a great foundation for the series; a big part of what we originally loved, though, was the ensemble and seeing all of the different characters together.
