Daredevil season 4 renewal odds: Will it happen on Netflix?
At the moment, things are current up in the air for the future of the franchise. Remember here that we are coming off of the cancellation of Iron Fist, and the future does not entirely seem clear for Luke Cage at the moment, either. We do wonder if a Heroes for Hire series featuring these two characters is something that could come at some point down the line, but we’re not presently at a point where anything is announced there.

So why are these superhero shows facing danger, including potentially Daredevil? You can look to the upcoming launch of the Disney streaming service if you wish, since the easy theory here is that the company may be looking to consolidate many of their comic-book properties. Yet, we don’t actually have a tendency to think that this is it. Daredevil is far too dark of a show to every launch on a more family-friendly streaming service, so any talk about that being a factor seems to be a conspiracy theory more so than anything else.
The biggest problem that a show like Daredevil faces at the moment is simply a matter of viewer fatigue for this particular genre. There are a TON of superhero shows at the moment, and because of all of that competition, it’s harder for any of them to stand out. Netflix has churned out seasons of many of their superhero shows over the past twelve or so months, and that’s one of the big reasons why we think that this fatigue is happening. That is without even bringing to the table some other shows elsewhere including the Arrowverse, Agents of SHIELD, summer movies, and now, potentially the launch of the DC Universe streaming service.
At the moment, we’re reasonably optimistic for a Daredevil season 4 renewal. Yet, nothing is altogether guaranteed and the recent Iron Fist cancellation does have us facing the show’s mortality more than before.
