Daredevil season 3 premiere date official; see new teaser
Weeks after rumors first started about the Daredevil season 3 premiere date, and a foreign arm of Netflix leaked it, the streaming service has finally made it official: October 19 is when you can binge watch the show.
In the video below, you can see what is a very creepy and bloody look at the upcoming batch of episodes, one in which Matt Murdock claims that it is time to “let the devil out” and that the only way to defeat evil is to “finish it.” All of this is a reminder that we’re entering what is the darkest season to date, one where Matt may actually feel a little more like The Punisher than his old self. He doesn’t want to follow many of the same rules anymore, and that could lead to some severe consequences for him … including a further descent into darkness.
All of this feels compelling, and we’re hoping that this season really brings you back to some of the earlier themes of the series and sort of boils everything down. One of the biggest difficulties with the second season was mostly that there was so much going on that occasionally the show started to get cluttered almost like we had two different seasons jammed into one with the Punisher story and Elektra’s story. Sometimes simple is best, and we do think that this is the case with this particular show. Give us Matt’s journey and center most of the series around that. If this is what we get, we will be feeling pretty good that we’re going to be satisfied when the dust settles.
As for what the future holds beyond season 3, we’re certainly curious to figure that out. These are shows that we don’t believe are meant to last forever, but we’d like to see the Marvel – Netflix library find a way to make it to at least four or five seasons.
