Station 19 season 2 spoilers: Dermot Mulroney playing Ryan’s father

Station 19

Station 19 season 2 is going to be premiering on ABC this fall, and after spending a good bit of season 1 with Andy’s father Pruitt, we’re now also preparing to meet Ryan’s dad, as well!

According to a new report from Deadline, Dermot Mulroney is going to be appearing in a recurring capacity this fall as “a character who’s back in town after an extended leave – much to the surprise of pretty much everyone who has ever known him. He’s sharp witted, very perceptive, wickedly smart… and he can charm his way into and out of almost any situation. He hasn’t always been on the right side of the law, which really affects him… especially in the eyes of his son, police officer Ryan Tanner (Alberto Frezza).”

Does that mean that this character is a full-fledged criminal? We wouldn’t necessarily say that, but it does feel pretty clear that this is going to be a character who has a rather distinct point of view and may not be altogether willing to listen to what other characters have to say to him. We’re also curious if this is the sort of guy who Andy has a distinct perspective on, as well — just remember here that she’s known Ryan for the better part of her life and with that in mind, the odds seem fairly high that she spent some time around him.

By and large, Station 19 has done everything that it can in order to keep its story for season 2 a secret, which mostly is just a function of the enormous cliffhanger the writers came up with at the end of season 1. Depending on what happens on the other side of this, we may have a chance to actually learn more about what’s next.
