NCIS season 16 promo anticipation: What to expect
Over the past few days, CBS has released the first promos for both the NCIS: New Orleans and also the NCIS: Los Angeles premieres. Both of these two shows created some huge cliffhangers revolving in part around the fate of a major character. NCIS has largely the same premise in their premiere, given that with their show the fate of Leon Vance is up in the air after he was captured at the end of season 15.

More than likely, you are going to see the promo for the premiere over the next few days, and in that promo you’re more than likely going to see much of the team scrambling to find Vance. We don’t think that the show is really going to try to cram anything else in there, especially when the other shows in the NCIS franchise are being pretty straightforward in their own promos. It doesn’t seem like there is any real effort at the moment to confuse when it comes to these premieres — the network just wants to make things pretty cut and dry.
Of course, we do anticipate that Mark Harmon will be at the center of anything no matter what kind of promo the network puts out there. After all, remember here that CBS is looking as a series to put him at the forefront — as they should, given that he is the face of the show and the primary selling point. With Abby now gone from the series, he is the most recognizable person on the show. When you think about it, he is also the only cast member who was there from day one who still appears in every episode. (Sean Murray recurred during season 1 and David McCallum doesn’t do every episode anymore.)
