Blue Bloods season 9: First Tom Selleck – Will Estes photo
In this photo, you can see father and son having some sort of conversation over drinks … and of course we wonder if it has to do with the job or the engagement.
One of the big subjects that we’ve spent time discussing this summer is whether or not there would be long-lasting tension over Jamie working with his fiancee Eddie. While there is technically no rule barring the two of them from doing this, Frank seems to be concerned about the implications of it. Will they be able to still be an effective partnership if they are also thinking about each others’ safety much of the time? We understand the concern, but at the same time we feel like they’re going to be able to figure it out. As a matter of fact, we still contend that Jamie and Eddie are the sort of couple who are stronger together because they’ve got such a working history and know each other so well. This is something that we know intimately since we are a family that also works together and separating job and life is a tough balancing act.
If Jamie and Eddie weren’t already partners for many years before the romantic relationship, maybe we’d feel a little different. It just feels like these characters are well-suited to continue their work relationship, and Frank hopefully will realize that. For now, we don’t think that he’s going to force them apart — he did seem happy for their engagement and was able to separate that from any professional concerns.
What do you want to see with Jamie and Frank moving into Blue Bloods season 9? Be sure to share right now in the attached comments!

I swear, Erin and Danny are like the same person when they argue. They both have the same qualities, and they are the biggest, and santomious right fighters in the family. Eddie on the other hand is NOT a lawyer, she is a cop, I could see her getting into it with Danny on those issues, but then again, both are cops. And speaking of Danny, if there is a storyline that says that he is going to get justice because he’s going to cross paths with one of the guys who bombed his house, you best believe he’s going to go full-time on them, and I expect him to. Anything less, I will be really dissapointed.

I hope Eddie is permanent at the dinner table. She has earned it and she is going to be a Reagan. She will have very interesting input into conversations as she has shown in previous conversations. She has been accepted. Sydney was at the table as long as she was engaged to Jamie so I would expect the same for Eddie. Looking forward to Season 9!

Definitely, Eddie will also bring a bit of tension to the table as she shares her opinions that will differ with Erin’s need to be “the matriarch” therefore always right.

I would love to see Jamie and Eddie became Sergeants in the same precinct. I mean damn Jamie, you have been a patrol cop for 8 years nows. It’s time to take that next step. You aren’t a rookie no more. You are a veteran cop, stop being scared. But as for Eddie and Jamie riding together, it’s just really risky to do that, riding with your future wife and husband. I can definitely see tension between Frank and Jamie on the way Jamie surprised Frank with this engagement.

Absolutely…..Eddie earned her place at that table. Looking forward to some interesting conversations at that table.
